Thank you for reading Snowbirds, a serialized novella-in-flash by Margo Rife. Go here to start at the beginning. You’ll find the linked table of contents here.

Part 1

My family went on an outing to an auction house in Lake Worth, one town over but a different world. It’s somewhat quaint, a word never associated with Palm Beach. The auction features swanky stuff that relatives of the deceased pass over because it’s not quite good enough. The storefront setting is depressing with low fluorescent lights overhead and grimy folding chairs. A musky odor mingled with cigarette smoke makes my allergies act up.
